Recently, some of our instructors taught the dance Blue Rose. It is a beginner partner circle dance that can be danced to many different songs. There are a few variations that can add flair and excitement to the otherwise basic steps.

If you have previous dance experience, this can be learned in about 15 minutes, and if you are a beginner (welcome!), we recommend you take at least 30 minutes to learn and practice the steps. Below is some information about the Blue Rose dance and songs you can dance it to. Enjoy!

Mechanics of the Dance

Counts: 38 (8, 8, 8, 8, 6)

Variations

  1. Add spins for the follow during the cha-chas.
  2. If you don’t have a partner you can do this dance alone in the circle with the rest of the dancers!

This video starts on the last shuffle to the left where the lead and follow go back-to-front.
