What is Line Dancing?

Line dancing is a social dance style where participants form lines and dance in unison to a repeated sequence of steps. Unlike partner dancing, each person dances individually but in sync with the group. It’s often performed to country music but can be adapted to various genres, making it versatile and fun for everyone.

The Benefits of Line Dancing

Skill Development: Over time, you’ll build confidence as you master new dances and improve your timing, footwork, and overall rhythm.

Great Exercise: Line dancing is a fun, low-impact way to get moving. You’ll improve your coordination, balance, and stamina while dancing to your favorite tunes. It’s even great exercise while pregnant! Ask our instructor Joslyn. Always consult your doctor first though.

Stress Relief: Dancing is a proven stress-buster! The music, movement, and social aspect help to lift your mood, making line dancing a great way to unwind after a busy day. If you think I’m talking B.S. and line dancing actually sounds really scary, just remember no one is looking at you! On a full dance floor, you are just one of many. If someone does happen to watch you, make sure that what they see is someone having fun! There is nothing more fun than someone who doesn’t care how silly they look!

Community Building: Whether you come with friends or attend solo, line dancing in Bend is a great way to connect with people. The friendly environment ensures that everyone is included, whether you’re an experienced dancer or just starting out.

The dance to this song is special in that it can be taught and danced as a line OR partner dance. It is a beginner level line dance and an intermediate circle dance due to some different hand changes.
